Who we are
On June 17, 2017 Jordan and I said “I do” in front of all our family and friends. It was during our ceremony while our pastor was speaking and sharing wisdom and insight for our marriage ahead that Just Relinquish Daily was born. As Jordan and I were facing each other and giddy as any other newlyweds are on their wedding day, our pastor said "Today you Jordan Ryan DeSilvey are taking Jennifer Rose Quanrud to be your wife and she will become Jennifer Rose DeSilvey. In less than 20 minutes you both will have the initials J.R.D. If you remember anything that I say today, let it be this, each day of your marriage remember to ‘Just Relinquish Daily.’” For the full story, read the following blog post The Words of Our Testimony.
Fast forward 7 years and we found out I was pregnant with our first child. As we were thinking of names we debated whether or not we would be quote on quote that family. The matching initial family that is. However after just a few short weeks of life, I miscarried our daughter. It was in the midst of this pain, sorrow, and loss that ashes rose from beauty and we became “that family”. While we did not know our sweet Joanna Rose DeSilvey, she is a member of our family who is fully known and fully loved.
In December of 2023, we celebrated the arrival of our our rainbow baby, our son, James River (Riv) DeSilvey; he who is gentle and precious, yet might and strong.
You see, Just Relinquish Daily was never meant to be just some nice words of encouragement that our pastor spoke over us on our wedding day, but instead were words of wisdom, a gift from the Lord that laid the foundation for what was to come. Through the Holy Spirit, Just Relinquish Daily became not only our family motto but also our prayer and declaration - the words of our testimony.
Here at Just Relinquish Daily, we believe your story matters and it matters for eternity. It is our hope to provide a platform where you and others can come, sit, and be filled by the goodness of God in our lives, in the lives of others and within your own life as well. It is our mission to grow the kingdom, one testimony at a time.
